One of the things the Dedicant’s manual recommends you do in order to help put yourself in the right frame of mind for ritual work is to have a piece of clothing or jewelry that would be worn only for rituals or devotions.

I decided I wanted to make myself a devotional necklace, so I went to my local beading shop and found these wooden beads, and pewter charms representing earth, water, air, and fire, as well as a larger piece that represents the Tree of Life. As I find my hearth culture and begin worshipping specific deities, I may add on more beads, but for now it’s simple and gorgeous and I’m really proud of it!
