Owls, eh?

Starting on Thursday (March 10th), owls have been popping up randomly. First in some necklaces that really pulled at me to buy them, then some sets of earrings (which I did buy), and in the random lock-screen image on my computer. Someone apparently wanted my attention.

They showed up again today, in paintings and jewelry and statuary. I caved and picked up aFile_000 (27) wee stone owl at the counter of our local pagan shop. I wound up naming him Archimedes, after the owl from The Sword in the Stone, and his little face is just the most charming thing!

The only god my friend Kaye could come up with owl associations was Athena– this would make sense as She has spinning associations as well and I’ve been unusually obsessed with spinning lately. We can go back and forth on the cause-and-effect of those two statements all day long and I don’t think the true answer is anything we’d fully be able to untangle either way, but the point is that She might be poking me.

I’m not in any hurry to take on new ties right now, so I’m going to let this sit for now. I bought the owl, and he’s going to hang out with me. I’m happy to let this grow slowly and see where it takes us.
